Churchville, N.Y. — The Open Door Baptist Church is hosting a Joy Through the Mourning Bereavement Conference from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the church, 350 Chili Scottsville Road, Churchville.

Jill Kelly, wife of Hall of Fame Buffalo Bill quarterback Jim Kelly, will speak at the conference and sign copies of her book. The Kellys are founders of the Hunter’s Hope Foundation, which they established in 1997 after their infant son, Hunter, was diagnosed with Krabbe Leukodystrophy, an inherited fatal nervous system disease. The cost is $10 per person and includes morning snack and lunch. Visit or call 889-3220 for more information or to register.

The church has been established for 35 years, with 12 years in Churchville. Current pastor Tom Hauser and wife Char, along with friends Sam and Pam Hannah, started the church in 1977.
