Churchville — Open Door Baptist Church (Benjamin Ministries), 350 Chili Scottsville Road, will host Joy through The Mourning, an all-day bereavement conference.

The event, open to those who have lost a loved one, will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 22.

Jill Kelly, wife of Hall of Fame and former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, will be a featured speaker. The Kellys founded Hunter’s Hope Foundation following the death of their 8-year-old son in 2005 of Krabbe disease, one of the leukodystrophies.

Jill will be signing copies of her New York Times bestseller “Without a Word,” which chronicles the family’s story. Like the Kellys, Benjamin Ministries’ founders Dan and Pam Waterman also lost a child.

Speakers, music and testimony from those suffering a loss will be highlighted. Morning snack and lunch will be provided. Prayer partners will be on site for private conversations.

The cost is $10 and registration is required.
